The On-Line Meeting Place for
The Residents of New Ash Green

Welcome to NAG-Active, the place where the residents of New Ash Green can make their voices heard!

The original idea came in February 2003. Many will remember that there was a meeting in the Village Hall between the residents, the local Police, the Village Association and representatives from the various Local Authorities. The organisers hoped it would be a simple PR exercise but when several hundred angry residents turned up and began to air their views about the real problems that existed in the Village, it became clear that they needed an outlet where they could express their feelings.

It took longer than was originally thought, but NAG-Active has now been around for a couple of years and is growing stronger all the time.

NAG-Active is totally independent and non-political. It has been set up by residents of the Village with the sole aim of giving the people who live in New Ash Green an opportunity to air their views, grievances and opinions
.

NAG-Active provides a way for individuals or groups of like-minded residents to communicate directly with the local 'powers that be' in a way that would otherwise be impossible, about matters to do with their local Neighbourhoods, The Village Association and even the Local and County Councils and the Police.

And it's also a good way of helping to bring the Community together.

Several local Clubs and Organisations already have their own sections and can make announcements, give out news and communicate with their members and other residents. And others can too, if they want to, including local Schools, Mother and Toddler Groups, Retired Groups, Theatre and Entertainment Groups and so on. They only have to ask. If you know of one who might like to have their own section on NAG-Active, tell them about NAG-Active and what it might be able to do to publicise their activities to their members and other residents of the Village.

There is also a section for the Younger Residents who can make their voices heard without being told to 'Shut Up!' They can air their views, comments, complaints and, yes, ideas for New Ash Green if they want to. There are also sections for the Neighbourhoods where residents are able to raise and discuss specific issues affecting them and their neighbours.

There have to be a few ground-rules, of course.

We don't want to censor or edit any of the postings, but obviously bad-language, profanities and anything of a sexual or pornographic nature cannot be tolerated on a public forum. It's  also not permitted for anyone to post anything which is malicious or defamatory towards any other named individual and anyone breaking these rules will be banned from NAG-Active and their computer IP address blocked from future access.

Please feel free to make use of and enjoy NAG-Active. And if you have any ideas for future sections and content, please let us know because we will be very grateful to receive them.

One final thing. NAG-Active has not been created by an individual or any organisation or body with a hidden axe to grind to try to influence the people of New Ash Green. It really is independent and has been set up for the community to use as it will.
